Private One Day to Kulen Mountain and Kompong Khleang

Let’s go to see the beauty of nature and Waterfalls, reclining buddha on a natural hills carved during the 15th century up on top of 487meters high mounatin and 1000 Lingams under the riverbed dated back to the year 802 AD when our Khmer King set up the Khmer Capital on this mountain called KULEN MOUNTAIN National Park.
The 1000 Lingams is believed as sacred stone item caved under the riverbed and when the water flow on top of them. You will see one of our Cambodian Biggest Buddha reclining on the top of the natural hill and prepare yourself ready for the jump in to the nature pool at the second section of the waterfalls. It will be one of the most unforgettable Nature trip in Siem Reap. Be amazed by a high stilts houses about 6-7 meters from the ground to protect for the up-level of water that push in from the great lake (Tonle Sap Lake well-known as the largest fresh water lake in southeast asia) during the wet season (August-January).

Pick up at hotel and transfer to Mahendrapura, Kulen mountain where the cradle of Khmer civilisation and Angkorian Birthplace. It is located 40 km northeast from Siem Reap and is an important pilgrimage site for Cambodian people. Phnom Kulen often lies shrouded in mist but on a clear day one can see the loaf like shape on the horizon across the flat plains of Siem Reap province. You will rise early and travel through picturesque countryside to reach your destination in the mid morning. The sites atop Phnom Kulen include a Buddhist Pagoda with giant Reclining Buddha, Hindu carvings in the stone river bed and an impressive waterfall under which swimming is possible. After that, we explore the stilted community of Kompong Khleang located on the northern edge of the Tonle Sap lake approximately 55km east of Siem Reap town. Accessible in both dry and wet season, visitors to Kompong Khleang during the dry season are universally awestruck by the forest of stilted houses rising up to 10 meters in the air. When the monsoon comes the waters rise up to one or two meters of the buildings. This is a permanent community with subsistence fishing as the main source of livelihood. This is also one of the largest communities on the Tonle Sap lake. Return to Siem Reap and drop off.
