Driving Jeep on the dirt road to see how lives are like in the countryside. Stop when something catches your eyes. There will be a few during the Jeep drive at the local Buddhist pagodas, vegetable farms and rice fields. The final is at the soft drink during the sunset over the paddy fields. Subject to controversial ownership issues over time this temple officially belongs to Cambodia. Its location is 150km north of Siem Reap and it will take approximately 3 hours to get there. You will drive through picturesque countryside which becomes less and less populated the further north you go. This temple is a unique architectural complex of series of sanctuaries linked by a system of pavements and staircases on 800 meter long axis. It is an outstanding masterpiece of Khmer architecture and well preserved mainly due to its remote location.

The Angkor Archaeological Park is a largely shaded forested area, so if you wish to combine your temple sightseeing with a healthy dose of walking, this tour is for you! You will be dropped off at Spean Neak bridge and start your walk to Angkor Wat Temple. Then, keep walking on the 8m high laterite wall to the East Gate (Death Gate). This short section of the wall has a clear worn path which is used by local traffic, occasionally you may meet people collecting wood and going on about their daily business. Through breaks in the forest canopy, you will be able to glance at the Angkor Thom moat below and on the other side the slope into the dense jungle. Back on level ground you will pass Prasat Pram Pi Lveng and continue to the Khleang temple group and the Preah Pithu Group, Tanei and Taprohm Temples. Although in plain sight and passed by many, these temples are rarely explored and thus well worth a short stop. You are almost guaranteed to have them to yourself!
